In 2017, the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo (MTA) embarked on an unparalleled collaboration with the municipality of Tel Aviv-Yaffo in which we 'adopted' the newly established “Irony Lamed Gimel” high-school in Jaffa.
The Adopt-A-School Program follows a uniquely holistic and comprehensive approach to improving student happiness, achievement, retention and successful transitions to institutions of higher education. A collaborative effort, the program proactively engages the entire MTA community of faculty, students and administrative staff, as well as that of the students, parents, a teachers and administrative staff of Irony Lamed Gimel High School (ILG).
Flexible and scaleable, the Adopt-A-School model of intervention offers the following benefits to teachers, parents and students:
Mentored and accompanied in the classroom by MTA faculty, the program offers ILG teaching staff creative teaching and innovative instruction methods to enhance the curiosity, motivation, engagement and academic achievement of their students.
Professors at MTA will go out of their way to engage their students and inspire them to enquire and learn. This class gives our students a chance to apply their unique skills and expand their horizons by learning something new.
The program exposes parents to the academic world in order to empower parents within a supportive ecosystem that encourages and prepares ILG students for college.
