MTA has established an international collaboration with the University of Connecticut (UConn), ranked among the 25 top public universities in the USA. This collaboration will encourage direct contacts and cooperation between faculty members, graduate and undergraduate students, departments, institutes, and academic planning staff.  The joint academic and scientific activities that will be promoted include mutually beneficial collaborative research projects between departments and individual faculty members; faculty member exchange for the purpose of research, teaching, and the presentation of seminars, as well as graduate and undergraduate student exchange; joint supervision of graduate research students; joint research projects in fields of mutual interest; exchange of academic publications and reports; the sharing of experiences in innovative teaching methods and course design; and joint symposia, workshops, and conferences.
