Student Exchange or Study Abroad is a program where students take courses at an international university and those credits are transferred to MTA towards their degree.

When can I study abroad?Bachelor Degree Students: 2nd year- either in the 1st or the 2nd semester 3rd year- the 1st semester only *4th year- the 1st semester only Master Degree Students: 2nd year- the 1st semester *students cannot study abroad during the last semester of their degree

What are the eligibility requirements?Grade Point Average (GPA) of 85 or higher Exemption in English or Passed Advanced English Course

Which students can apply?Students from all 6 Schools can apply. However each School has their own internal review and approval process.

Will it extend my degree?Can only be determined on a case-by-case basis. However, most likely yes.

How do I choose my courses abroad?Completed courses abroad will replace MTA courses from your degree. Each student is responsible for finding their own courses abroad. Online you can find the lists of English courses available at the Host University. All courses must be approved by your School in order to study abroad.

What to check when searching for courses?Make sure the course is offered in English Make sure it's offered in the right semester (1st term VS 2nd term) (Fall VS Spring) Check if there are any mandatory prerequisites for the course Check timetable (if possible) to avoid time conflicts

What does first-cycle and second-cycle mean?First-cycle = Bachelor level Second-cycle = Master level

How long is a Semester Abroad?Expect to spend about 5 months abroad. That includes arriving before the start of the semester for orientation and the exam period at the end.

What am I responsible for?Flight Health Insurance Housing *If you apply to a school that does NOT have a partnership with MTA you will have to pay their tuition rate

Does MTA offer scholarships?Students can apply for financial assistance through the Meda-Net portal
