Program Overview

MTA is committed to nurturing the human potential of Arab youth and removing obstacles to their integration in higher education and the workforce. To that end, we run a comprehensive framework of programs that address the unique needs of Arab youth in the crucial years of transition from high school, through college, to the job market.

Integrating Arab Young Adults into the Academia
An MTA Initiative

Program Benefits

In High School

In an unprecedented collaboration with the municipality of Tel Aviv-Yaffo, the college is
adopting a nearby high school. This unique model includes a host of academic, social and
emotional support programs to students in order to ensure their successful graduation and
enrollment in higher education, including:

  • Rigorous academic activities, from guest lectures by our faculty to visits to
the college’s various schools and centers, in order to build intellectual curiosity, increase motivation for academic studies, and build familiarity with the college environment.

  • Afternoon social activities that develop skills for optimal integration in college; and

  • Emotional support for students in need, to assist them in developing the discipline, and coping mechanisms, required for succeeding in higher learning.

Transition to Academia

MTA runs a pioneering program to help ease the transition of Arab students from high school to academia, and to obtain higher rates of Arab student enrollment at the College. Unparalleled by any other program in Israel, its framework is tailored with specific components to address various barriers. The program is led by Arab coordinators, and offers an entire framework of supporting services, and participants who successfully complete the program are automatically admitted to the college.

From Academia to the Job Market

Our career center provides Arab students services that assist them in preparing for the job market, informs them about vacancies, connects them with potential employers, and trains them in skills for successful integration in the workforce.

Impact

MTA has established a unique model that supports and nurtures children, youth and young adults from the Arab society. The college makes constant efforts to expand its reach and replicate its programs for the benefit of more Arab youth.
